Groups like these are the heart of any community.
They do the hard work of helping preserve history, protect local culture,
safeguard the environment, and serve the elderly and poor. They worry about things
like traffic and safety and police protection. Without these groups all of our lives would be
harder, our quality of life less satisfying and Edisto would not be the wonderful place it is.
At SCS we believe they deserve the best we have to offer and at substantially lower
prices. You can be assured we give it to them. Currently the following are our clients:

Under the original grant the Edisto Island National Scenic Byway was funded to
create an original web site. Due to my personal involvement with the group it was
necessary not to bid on the web to avoid conflicts of interest so I did not.
However during the months between the naming of the byway and the awarding of the
grant SCS was asked to buy the name and we went ahead and donated a placeholder site so that
people wishing to learn about the Scenic Byway could do so.
When the new site is completed our site will go away but until then
visit it at: www.EdistoScenicByway.org

Litter trashes everyone. Education is the key. Edisto Pride heads up the annual Beach Sweep/River Sweep
and
Great American Clean Up but they also work diligently to educate our young people and the
entire community.
Their efforts are making a difference on Edisto and we're proud to have designed
their simple site which we also host.

Renovation and Restoration began in spring of 2007. In the fall of 2008 the project is completed but
the funding is not. The Presbyterian Church on Edisto Island continues to seek funds to pay for
the renovations and this web site is one tool to help them do so. The historic structure was featured
in this year's Edisto and Beyond Tour of the Edisto Island Historic Society.
Our web has followed the process weekly in good weather and bad, providing
information to Church members who may not be on the island and encouragement
to those who have done the heavy lifting. We're proud to have provided those
services pro bono and congratulate the Church and its members.
Note: with the completion of the project this site is no longer active.

No organization has done more to protect and preserve Edisto than the Edisto Island Open
Land Trust. Working with private landowners the trust has encouraged placing conservation
easements on thousands of acres of land. To date roughly 47% of Edisto is protected in some way.
When no other alternative was available the trust
has even
purchased property. Some property is
simply held, some is resold to conservation buyers.
As you can see we're not just their web company,
we're members and supporters and urge you to
consider becoming the same.

The Edisto Island Open Land Trust spearheaded the effort to have Scenic Highway 174 named the Edisto IslandNational Scenci Byway.

We live and work on beautiful Edisto Island
and want to see it remain
non-commercial,
rural, and an appropriate gateway to the
internationally
known ACE Basin. Edisto's slow paced
lifestyle and gentle way of living
makes room for wildlife and very special people. This
organization was created by nine of the existing island organizations to be the group that reacts
quickly to threats to our way of life. Additionally it works to support the many good things happening
on Edisto. Included among those things is the effort to preserve and enhance the Edisto Island National Scenic Byway and the volunteer program at Botany Bay WMA. We encourage you to visit
our web to learn more.

The beach has long been the economic engine of the island, and even nearby communities.
Yet the attraction is not the water slides or goofy golf of many beach towns. It is a slow paced way
of life combined with family fun. Generations of people from North Carolina, Georgia, all over
South Carolina and other much more remote places have returned year-after-year to make
vacation memories. Many have purchased property here.Keeping Edisto Beach the place they
remember and want to return to is
what the Edisto Beach Property Owners' Association works
at every day. This web site publishes
the minutes of
Town Council, the Planning Commission,
notices of meetings, deliberations of key
committees,
and a wealth of information so that no
matter where your primary residence may
be you can stay
informed and let your voice be heard.
